A mother's love is unconditional they carry us in their strong bodies for nine months, then they give birth to us in a long grueling and painful process. They are in love with us before they ever set their eyes upon us. We cannot even begin to imagine how much they love us and protect us as we grow. Its not until we are grown that we can even begin to touch upon that bond.

I have spent that last forty-three years knowing that my mother was always right there by my side. We may not have always seen eye to eye but she was here with me no matter what. She was my sounding board when ideas needed help forming, she was my editor when my books needed reviewed, she was always right next door.

In just a few short weeks she will be moving thousands of miles away. She is going somewhere that is warmer and much better for her health. She will make new friends and be with her brother for the first time in a very long time. I cannot say how happy and proud I am of her. It's taken lots of courage for her to leave everything she has ever known and begin a new.

But its bittersweet because for the first time she is not going to be next door to help me when I need advice on a building project or when I just need to go shopping. I will have to learn a new way of life, phone calls daily and lots of pics on facebook. So not only is she beginning a new journey I too and beginning my new journey.

My first grand daughter just turned a year old on the first and its the most amazing feeling in the world. It is hard to imagine how much you can love your childs, child. You first fall in love with your baby and you watch her grow and you do your best to protect her and love her. Then she brings a life into this world and its a whole new mystery. Your heart just over flows with love.

So as my mom begins her new life I to begin mine. I am now the grandmother she was twenty-three years ago, and I get to pass on all the wisdom she passed onto her grandchildren. I step into her steps and we will move side by side even though the miles are far. She will always be my mother just as I will always be my daughters mother and together life will carry on.

So to my wonderful mother, I love you, forever and always.
